This blog series promises to share what we all love about experiencing the fall/winter season!
Particularly during COVID, many of us have turned to virtual or socially distanced games to enjoy ourselves and stay connected to each other. In our Vista survey, we found that more than 50% of participants look forward to playing interactive games this season.
Games can be a way to laugh, be creative and learn more about each other. As we mentioned in a previous Vista blog, Vista's Recreation Program recently hosted an in-person social games event. In addition to in-person games, it was important to virtually offer social games, giving our students and members another opportunity to participate safely.

Vista's virtual social games group recently met for the first time and their charades session was a blast! Bryant Morander, a Life Skills Instructor who organized the gathering, said, "Everyone was smiling and talkative during the meeting. It was nice to see each participant engaged in the activities. We got to use critical thinking and communication skills while we added some fun into our everyday lives." The group ended with a quick scavenger to showcase some colorful items around their homes.

This season, it is still possible to appreciate our favorite activities. If you haven't already, you can start your own virtual or in-person game night while maintaining social distancing. As our students and members saw, charades is a great choice. At Vista's retail store, Creations, located in downtown Madison (and online), you can also purchase many game options (a few are featured below) to support Vista and have fun!
