The Season of Giving
The Season of Giving
Becky Lipnick

We are now moving into the winter months, traditionally a time when people come together and find ways to show their appreciation for their friends, families and communities.

At Vista, we are proud of the ways our students, members, staff, community partners and friends are finding creative ways to stay involved this year.

In honor of these efforts, our next blog series is called "The Season of Giving" and will showcase our retail store Creations and some of the products it carries while also highlighting how the Vista community is making the end of 2020 a little brighter. Please enjoy the story below.

During Vista's 30-year history, we have seen the positive impact of having many people and organizations come together. This winter, we were thrilled that one of our local community partners, the Community Foundation of Middlesex County, chose a holiday card by Vista artist Chrissy Pepe to send well-wishes to their supporters.

Last week, a small group from the Community Foundation and Vista came together to share their excitement over the card with Chrissy over Zoom. Cynthia Clegg, CEO of the Community Foundation of Middlesex County, said, "Chrissy, we all fell in love with it [your card]. We absolutely love it." The group was full of smiles and took a photograph to commemorate the occasion (see below).

Chrissy's card is an example of how a Vista artist can share their talent with others. Artists like Chrissy are also compensated when Vista uses their images.

Like Vista, the Community Foundation believes in the power of working together to foster our communities. Cynthia explained, "Our mission is to improve the quality of life in Middlesex county. We support "Live local, shop local" campaigns as part of this philosophy. We also believe the nonprofits are integral to building community. What would we do without organizations like Vista?"

We are so glad to work with organizations like the Community Foundation and hope to share more stories of supporting our communities during Vista's "Season of Giving" series. Like the Community Foundation, you can send your own Vista artist holiday card by shopping at Creations, Vista's retail store, in downtown Madison or online at Click here to view their selection.
