As the weather grows colder, the students, members and staff at Vista Life Innovations are partnering with organizations such as the American Red Cross, local food pantries, and Bare Necessities, a non-profit dedicated to providing diapers to Connecticut families.
Vista strives to offer opportunities for students and members to understand the value of being involved and engaged in their local communities. To support community involvement, Vista staff organized fall socials where students and members were encouraged to donate to a food drive in order to receive raffle tickets for prizes. These events helped raise over 200 non-perishable items for food pantries in Old Saybrook, Westbrook and Clinton.
Over November, Vista hosted its first diaper drive in collaboration with Bare Necessities. The diaper drive came into conception after students and members were inspired from training at a Bare Necessities job site. For the drive, Vista collected an impressive 1,431 diapers and 1,780 wipes.
While supporting our local communities along the Connecticut shoreline, Vista Life Innovations assists individuals with disabilities achieve personal success.
