On Sunday, October 6 nearly 230 cyclists rode in support of the Vista Tour de Shore, a cycling event and fundraiser benefiting Vista Life Innovations, a post-secondary educational program supporting individuals with disabilities.
This annual community event raises funds to support the long term health of Vista and to raise awareness for individuals with disabilities. Cyclists on 21 fundraising teams rode 5, 25, 40 or 60 miles respectively. This year's presenting sponsors New England Brewing Co. and Yale New Haven Psychiatric Hospital share Vista's mission – supporting the personal success of individuals with disabilities.
Proceeds from the event benefit the Vista Endowment Fund, a supporting organization of Vista Life Innovations. In 11 years, the event has net over $580,000 for the Vista Endowment Fund and registered more than 2,400 cyclists.
Vista would like to thank the Westbrook Elks Lodge and event sponsors New England Brewing Co., Yale New Haven Psychiatric Hospital, Zane's Cycles, Branford Jewelers, Wells Fargo, Thomson Bike Tours, Select Physical Therapy, Zip 06, Essex Printing, Essex Savings Bank, Pasta Vita, 21st Century Tolland Fund, and Dignity Home Care.
