Take a stroll through Madison's picturesque downtown and coastal neighborhoods with your friends and family to make an impact in the lives of individuals with disabilities across the shoreline during the annual WALK for Vista fundraising event on Oct. 28.
Open to community members of all ages and abilities, the WALK for Vista benefits Vista's programs and services as well as the Edward Gallant Financial Aid Fund, which provides scholarship opportunities for Vista students and members.
Starting and ending at Vista's Madison Campus on Bradley Road, the WALK for Vista takes participants on an accessible three-mile journey through downtown Madison and along the coast for breathtaking views of Long Island Sound during fall. This low-impact walk is also dog friendly.
The WALK for Vista also includes raffle drawings, team prizes and entertainment.
More than a fundraiser, the WALK for Vista is a family-friendly community event that attracts a growing number of participants representing community groups, organizations and businesses from across the shoreline and beyond. The Clinton Police Department, Scranton Library, Valley Shore YMCA, Snap Fitness, 9 Town Transit, Body Karma Studio, and Penny Lane Pub are among the many community organizations and businesses that have recruited fundraising teams to participate in the event. The Lancraft Fife & Drum Corps has also been a favorite at the event for the past two years.
With more than 300 registered participants and 37 fundraising teams, last year's event raised more than $60,000.
