August Core Value Highlight: LEADERSHIP

At Vista, we seek to inspire through leading by example. Graduation exemplifies the Core Value of Leadership by acknowledging and celebrating the independence and success of our students. We are thrilled to introduce six Vista students who have reached a significant milestone this year...Vista's Class of 2022!

We hope you enjoy learning more about these special young men and women!

                      Jenn Pawlich, Class of 2022

We’re pleased to introduce you to our last Vista graduate, Jenn Pawlich. She grew up in Rocky Hill, CT, and started the Discover Program in 2020. Jenn currently lives on her own in the greater shoreline community. She recently spoke with us about her Vista journey to graduation.

What are some of the goals you worked towards during your time in the Discover Program?

During the Discover Program, I became a more independent version of myself by learning how to express my emotions and finding an organization method that works for me. All those skills and more have helped me to become a self-sufficient person capable of managing anything that life brings my way.

What achievements are you the proudest of?

By learning my vocational skills, I have been able to maintain several jobs, one as the receptionist at the Vista Madison Campus. I am proud of myself for learning new skills that will continue to propel me forward in the years ahead.

Can you share an example of a time you feel you displayed Leadership?

One of my friends needed advice on how to navigate a scheduling conflict she had at work. So, I took the time to sit with her and discuss all the options she had to resolve the issue. It felt good to help someone I care about resolve a situation that was causing her unnecessary stress. A lot of people turn to me when they need advice because I genuinely care about what they are going through.

What are your hobbies and interests?

I enjoy playing tennis with my friends, listening to country music, and staying up to date with the latest fashion trends.

What do you think you are best known for?

I am best known for my sense of humor and empathy for others.

What’s your favorite color? Favorite food?

Color: yellow. Food: pasta or fish.

We hope you enjoyed getting to know the Vista Class of 2022!
