Conclusion To Personal Development Core Value Series

Several years ago, Vista created a set of nine Core Values that describe what is important to us as we work to impact the lives of individuals with disabilities and the broader community. For 2022, we have chosen to focus our blog series on these Core Values - telling the story of our students and members and our organization through this important and powerful lens.

April Core Value Highlight: PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT

Our year of highlighting the Vista Core Values continued in May as we turned our attention to Personal Development.

Setting and achieving goals for personal development is an ongoing process for our students and members that is addressed throughout the many stages of their involvement in Vista’s programs. Many begin as Discover Program students; moving into the dormitory setting is an important first step in their journey.

Vista highlights the Core Value of Personal Development

As individuals progress, they continue to develop skills that move them along the path to leading enriching and independent lives.

Vista encourages students and members to acknowledge and celebrate when they reach their goals. The Charter Club sets an example by recognizing members and staff who have been a part of the Vista community for 20+ years.

This focus on Personal Development—woven throughout Vista’s programming in vocational training, community integration, life skills, and cognitive and social behavior—is invaluable in helping students and members become their best selves!

As we head into June, our attention will move to the next featured Core Value: Community & Human Connection.

More to come!
