Job Readiness

The foundation of the staircase starts with nurturing the individual’s own motivation and interests. Vista encourages students and members to explore what excites them and identify personal goals that can serve as a foundation for their vocational journey.

Once interests are identified, students engage in introductory instruction to learn about the world of work. This includes exposure to basic work concepts, routines, and expectations, helping to build a foundational understanding of employment culture.

At this stage, students and members participate in hands-on, exploratory vocational experiences and assessments. This allows them to trial different work settings, evaluate their skills and preferences, and gain exposure to various career paths, enabling informed decision-making.

Building on their experiences, individuals enter employment readiness programming where they focus on essential job skills. This includes workplace communication, problem-solving, interviewing skills, and soft skills development necessary to be successful in employment environments.

At the top of the staircase, Vista’s team supports students and members in securing actual employment or vocational placements. This includes job development services, on-the-job coaching, and ongoing support to help individuals maintain and thrive in their chosen roles.
