Student Advisory Council
Student and Member Voices Leading the Way

Vista Life Innovations (Vista’s) Student Advisory Council is a subcommittee of the Board of Directors. Members of the Student Advisory Council are elected by their peers to provide the Board of Directors with feedback from Vista’s students and members, as well as to complete projects as determined by each council group.
The Council is overseen by a Staff Liaison and an ongoing student/member Assistant Leader. Council members understand they have a responsibility to be a role model for other students/members as well as a member of a team.
Council members:
- Build leadership and advocacy skills
- Collaborate with staff on meaningful improvements
- Host student forums and events
- Promote inclusion and communication across programs
By fostering self-advocacy and civic engagement, the Student Advisory Council ensures that Vista’s programs reflect the voices of the individuals they serve.

Meet Vista's Engage and Student Counsel Member, Greg!
As a Council, we wanted to define what kindness really looks like at Vista and give real examples of how students and members can practice it every day. It’s about following the golden rule—treating others the way you’d want to be treated—but also about being kind to yourself.
